Upcoming Online Education Trainings
Live Webinars

Unless otherwise noted, all Online Education Trainings are webinars,
are 90 minutes in duration, and are scheduled to begin at 2 PM Eastern Time.

Making Friends With Funders
What Every Grantmaker Wants You to Know Before You Push “SUBMIT"! Make no mistake about it: Grantseeking is a people-driven process. And key to your success is the grantmakers themselves—the people who make the decisions about awards from corporate, foundation, and government sources. But who are these people? How do we connect with them? And what do they want from us, anyway? Being a grantmaker isn't as easy as you might think. In this lively session, veteran grantmaker Maryn Boess pulls from her own grantmaking experience (and that of dozens of other private and public program officers, reviewers, and decision-makers) to give you a realistic, behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to create funder relationships that are authentic, high-integrity . . . and that work for you. We’ll pull back the curtain on the realities of life as a grantmaker—and what your proposal is really up against “on the other side.” You'll learn what grantmakers love, what makes them grumpy—and how you can be sure you're delivering what they really, really want, every time! The webinar will be held on Wednesday, May 5, 2021.

Budgeting to Fully Fund Your Overhead
This webinar will identify the building blocks of a strong budget and explain how nonprofits can easily raise the dollars needed to cover overhead costs. Amanda Pearce will discuss how proper budgeting will propel grant proposals to success and how to use messaging to raise these much-needed funds. You’ll see how to accurately describe, budget, and properly package your programs and projects to effectively secure funds from diversified funding streams. In this session you'll learn: how to write a realistic budget for your organization, programs, and projects; the three items most budgets are missing; steps to diversifying your funding streams; how to express needs to prospective donors in ways that will ignite their passion to support your work; and the top three metrics you should analyze regularly from your budget. The webinar will be held on Wednesday, May 12, 2021.

Alice will draw from her years of helping nonprofit organizations unleash their strengths to embrace tomorrow’s opportunities. She has raised over $39 million writing federal, state, foundation, and corporate proposals and has overseen the awarding and monitoring of federal funds to nonprofit organizations throughout West Virginia.
