Grants Enhance Access to Justice
American Bar Endowment: Opportunity Grant Program

The American Bar Endowment's Opportunity Grant Program provides support to nonprofit organizations in the U.S. for new and innovative programs and projects that serve the immediate and critical legal needs of the public and are of importance to the legal profession and its concerns for access to justice. Funding areas include 1) enhancing access to justice, especially for vulnerable and underserved populations, using innovations to legal services delivery, capacity building, or pro bono service; 2) improvement of the justice system, including ensuring equal justice and elimination of bias; and 3) increasing public understanding of legal rights and responsibilities so people can recognize legal problems and know how to address them. Projects must be new and innovative and directly affect individual and community law-related needs. National organizations can apply, but need to draw the connection between their proposed work and its impact on local communities. The deadline for submitting letters of inquiry is September 23, 2022. Invited applications will be due October 7, 2022. Economics Education Programs Funded
Calvin K. Kazanjian Economics Foundation

The Calvin K. Kazanjian Economics Foundation seeks to advance economics education in the United States. The Foundation supports new ideas and approaches to helping people more fully understand how economics can play a role in making their lives, their communities, and the world a more prosperous place. The Foundation's current funding interests include, but are not limited to, the delivery of economic education to youth in non-school settings; behavioral economics with a focus on environmental issues; economic education initiatives to underserved communities in the local states; online competitions; entrepreneurship education; marketing capabilities to serve more populations in economic education; programs to generate more excitement for economic and financial education; and economic education programs in a recently mandated state. Grants range from $10,000 to $25,000 on average. The Foundation looks most favorably on programs that match grants with funds from other organizations. Nonprofit organizations with at least five years of history are eligible to apply. The upcoming deadline for submitting letters of interest is September 10, 2022. Support Available to Christian Leaders for New Programs Addressing Poverty and Inequality
We Raise Foundation: Emerging Leader Grants

We Raise Foundation partners with Christian nonprofit organizations and emerging leaders in the United States working at the intersection of poverty, violence, and inequality. Areas of interest include education, workforce development, and criminal justice. The Foundation's Emerging Leader Grants support the development of leaders, between the ages of 20-35, at Christian organizations who are leading new programs at the intersection of poverty, violence, and inequality in the United States. Grants of $15,000 over two years are provided for new programs led by young adult leaders, with $10,000 designated for startup expenses for the new program and $5,000 designated for leadership development. Book Donations Benefit Libraries in Underserved Communities
The Lisa Libraries

The Lisa Libraries donates new children's books and small libraries to organizations that work with families in underserved areas throughout the United States. Support is provided to organizations in low-income or underserved areas that need a small library, need to rebuild or add to a library, or serve children who would benefit by being given new books to take home. Previously supported libraries include libraries at daycare centers, prison visiting areas for children of incarcerated parents, and after-school programs. Donation of books from The Lisa Libraries is free; however, recipient organizations should cover the shipping and handling costs. Applications may be submitted at any time. Funds Provided in Bank Communities
Citizens Bank Corporate Giving

Citizens Bank's Corporate Giving seeks to support opportunities for significant and measurable community impact. Corporate contributions support nonprofit organizations in the geographic areas in which Citizens has a retail bank branch presence, including Connecticut, Delaware, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Hampshire, New Jersey, upstate New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, and Vermont. Funding areas of interest include fighting hunger and reducing food insecurity; supporting financial literacy programs that provide individuals and businesses with the tools needed to be fiscally healthy; and strengthening communities through economic development, job training, and small business development. Funding is focused on projects that serve diverse, underserved populations and neighborhoods and demonstrate strong results. Sponsorship support is also available, as well as grants through the Citizens Philanthropic Foundation for organizations in the Metro New York and New Jersey areas. Programs in Washington State Supported
Muckleshoot Charity Fund

The Muckleshoot Charity Fund supports nonprofit organizations, public educational institutions, government agencies, and churches in Washington State that address the unique local and regional issues facing the population. The Fund's priority areas include education, health and human services, arts and culture, communities of color, Native American programs, environmental programs, and civic and community advocacy. Applications may be submitted throughout the year. Visit the Muckleshoot Indian Tribe's website to review the Fund's guidelines and submit an online application.

Grants Promote Equity in Health, Food Security, and Education in AL, FL, GA, LA, and MS
SEG Gives Foundation: Romay Davis Belonging, Inclusion, and Diversity Grant

SEG Gives Foundation, the charitable arm of Southeastern Grocers Inc., is now accepting applications from nonprofit organizations in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, and Mississippi for the Romay Davis Belonging, Inclusion, and Diversity Grant. The program aims to promote a more equitable society by providing funds to nonprofit organizations that work to address racial disparities in healthcare, food insecurity, and education. Nonprofit organizations supporting underserved populations throughout Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, and Mississippi may apply for grants ranging from $5,000 to $25,000. Oral Health Efforts Funded in Wisconsin
Wisconsin Dental Association Foundation: Annual Grant Program

The Wisconsin Dental Association Foundation's Annual Grant Program provides funding to nonprofit organizations engaged in efforts to improve oral health for Wisconsin residents. The goal is to increase access to, and education relating to, oral health care, and to encourage volunteerism in the dental health community. Community-based, nonprofit, oral health promotion programs throughout Wisconsin are supported. Grants ranging from $1,000 to $7,500 are considered for dental supplies/equipment and other operating expenses for low-income dental clinics, dental health education programs, and other philanthropic endeavors relating to dentistry in Wisconsin. Nonprofit organizations with 501(c)(3) status and government agencies are eligible to apply. The application deadline is September 15, 2022. (A letter of endorsement from an officer of the local component dental society is required. Please note that submission of a grant application does not guarantee funding, and the decisions of the Foundation are final.) Funds Available to Help Prevent Youth Violence
Department of Justice

The Youth Violence Prevention Program supports prevention strategies targeted to youth in middle and high school (ages 11-17). Objectives include increasing protective factors to prevent violence and delinquent behavior by youth, and contributing to sustained future reductions in youth violence, particularly gun and gang violence. Examples of violence to be targeted include community violence, school violence, bullying and harassment by peers, and physical assault with or without weapons. Applications are due to grants.gov by August 29, 2022. The JustGrants deadline is September 12, 2022.

Program Preserves Equal Rights History
National Park Service

The Historic Preservation Fund's History of Equal Rights Program (HER) seeks to preserve sites related to the struggle to achieve the ideal of equal rights in America. Preservation Grants are available for planning and "bricks and mortar" preservation/conservation work on historic buildings and structures. Eligible costs for preservation projects include architectural services, historic structure reports, preservation plans, and physical preservation to structures. The application deadline is September 14, 2022.

Apply to TD Charitable Foundation's Ready Challenge Grant Competition
TD Bank is inviting nonprofit and charitable organizations across its North American footprint that are working on solutions to help disproportionately affected communities address the impacts of climate change and the transition to a low-carbon economy to apply for a TD Ready Challenge grant. For the 2022 TD Ready Challenge, TD Bank will award a maximum total of ten grants of either CDN $1 million or USD $1 million each, depending on the country of residence of the applicant. Eligible organizations are invited to apply by August 11th.

Much Alarm, Less Action: Foundations & Climate Change
