Support for Initiatives Addressing Mental Health and Substance Abuse
ALKERMES INSPIRATION GRANTS
The ALKERMES INSPIRATION GRANTS program supports nonprofit organizations throughout the United States that address the comprehensive needs of people affected by mental health and substance use disorders. Grants are provided for the development or expansion of innovative programs in two key areas: 1) improving or enhancing support or resources for people affected by mental illness or substance use disorders, and 2) integrating the perspective of people affected by mental illness or substance use disorders into drug development or care delivery. Local, regional, and national programs will all be considered. Eligible applicants include large advocacy organizations and academic institutions as well as small grassroots organizations trying to make a difference. National Tech Education Programming for Teens Funded
Best Buy Foundation: National Partnership Request for Proposals
The Best Buy Foundation is committed to giving underserved teens hands-on access to the tech education and tools they need to be prepared for the tech-reliant jobs of the future. The Foundation’s National Partnership Request for Proposals seeks nonprofit partners that generate interest and awareness in tech-related careers; improve access to training, credentialing, and employment; and support tech career progression. Best Buy is searching for organizations with multiple locations nationwide and a demonstrated track record in career pathway programming to build tech skill proficiency as well as provide career readiness and employment opportunities for underserved teens. All applicants must offer at a minimum 9 to 12 months of programming, which includes skills training, work-based learning experiences, and internship placement. Program grants, generally ranging from $100,000 to $350,000, are provided. Applying organizations must be located within 25 miles of a Best Buy store or operation center. Grants Promote the Theatre and Dance Fields Nationwide
The Shubert Foundation
The Shubert Foundation is dedicated to sustaining and advancing the live performing arts in the United States, with a particular emphasis on theatre and a secondary focus on dance. The Foundation provides general operating support to nonprofit, professional resident theatre and dance companies that have an established artistic and administrative track record, as well as a history of fiscal responsibility. A limited number of grants are also made to arts-related organizations that help support the development of theatre and dance, as well as graduate drama departments of private universities. Applications for theatre grants are due December 5, 2018. All other grant applications must be submitted by October 17, 2018. Awards for Healthcare Efforts for the Underserved
Henry Schein Cares Medal
The Henry Schein Cares Medal recognizes excellence in expanding access to healthcare for the underserved nationwide. Applying nonprofit organizations must demonstrate that their submitted program has expanded access to healthcare for the underserved in a novel and innovative way that is measurable and quantifiable. Emphasis will be placed on access to healthcare for children (birth to age 18), although all efforts to expand access to care will be considered. Programs must demonstrate potential for replication and large-scale impact. Finalists will be selected among applicants from the following two fields: oral health and medical. Individual cash awards of $10,000 each will be awarded to the six finalists. The application deadline is October 10, 2018. Visit the Henry Schein Cares Foundation website to learn more and to apply.

Energy Conservation Programs in New Jersey Supported
Sustainable Jersey Grants Program: Gardinier Environmental Fund
The Sustainable Jersey Grants Program helps local governments in New Jersey make progress toward a sustainable future in general, and specifically toward Sustainable Jersey certification. The Gardinier Environmental Fund is contributing $150,000 to support a Sustainable Jersey Grants Program for municipal governments and public school districts. For this grant cycle, funds will be provided for energy projects focused on conservation, efficiency, and renewable energy. Two $30,000 grants and nine $10,000 grants will be awarded. Funds for Montana Legal Aid Organizations
Montana Justice Foundation: Bank of America Grants
The Montana Justice Foundation is dedicated to achieving equal access to justice for all Montanans. The Foundation’s Bank of America Grants support legal aid organizations that provide foreclosure prevention legal assistance and/or community redevelopment legal assistance. Foreclosure Prevention Legal Assistance strategies may include a broad range of options such as advice and counsel, representation, mediation programs, and policy and impact work. Community Development Legal Assistance efforts provide legal representation and technical expertise to assist residents with neighborhood revitalization programs that stimulate local economic and commercial development, housing development, the delivery of social services, and other activities that improve the quality of life for people living in low-income communities. Nonprofit organizations, government agencies, and educational institutions are eligible to apply. The application deadline is November 30, 2018. Grants Strengthen Technology Resources for Minnesota Nonprofits
Shavlik Family Foundation
The Shavlik Family Foundation provides grants to nonprofit organizations in Minnesota with the goal of enhancing their ability to leverage technology to help fulfill their missions. The emphasis is on information and technology resources that remove barriers or build capacity for nonprofits and their clients. The Foundation does not focus on the size, location, or services provided by an organization, but looks to fund the technology projects that will have the greatest impact on an organization or the Minnesota community it serves. Grants generally range from $1,000 to $30,000. Online grant applications may be submitted from November 1 through December 15, 2018. Support for Grassroots LGBTQ Groups in the South
Southern Equality Fund
The Southern Equality Fund, a project of the Campaign for Southern Equality, is dedicated to promoting the equality, safety, and visibility of LGBTQ people in the South. The Fund provides grants to grassroots groups with annual budgets of less than $50,000 in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, and West Virginia. General Fund grants of up to $500 are provided throughout the year, and #QueerTheVote grants of up to $500 are provided in the months (May to November) before elections. Department of Commerce
The Species Recovery Grants to Tribes program recognizes the unique importance of many protected species to tribes and values ongoing efforts by tribal nations to conserve and protect species listed under the Endangered Species Act. The application deadline is October 30, 2018.

Program Preserves Historic Places
National Park Service
The Historic Preservation Fund Grants to Underrepresented Communities program supports the survey, inventory, and designation of historic properties that are associated with communities currently underrepresented in the National Register of Historic Places and among National Historic Landmarks. The application deadline is November 1, 2018.
