Primary Research - Finding the Leads

After creating the Projects on your dashboard, you can now move into finding funders through primary research using GrantStation’s search sections. Very likely, you will find a variety of funders who all match in different ways. It is best to treat these as leads to gather; you can then perform secondary research to learn more about their giving.

Always aim to apply for at least twice as much funding as you need through a number of different grantmakers.

Charitable Grantmakers

You can start your search by looking for charitable grantmakers, which include private grantmakers such as foundations, corporate programs, and associations with a grant program. There are three different sections based on where your work is performed:

  • U.S. Charitable: This includes grantmakers that give in the United States, either across the entire nation or in specific states and regions. Grantmakers located outside of the U.S. that give in the U.S. are also included.
