Grants of up to $25,000 for planning and up to $350,000 for implementation will be considered. The program is currently accepting grant applications from nonprofit organizations in two areas: FilmWatch grants support curated screening programs at North America-based film festivals, film societies, and other film-related organizations. Targeted programs include those that create culturally diverse viewing experiences, promote motion pictures as an art form, provide a platform for underrepresented artists, and cultivate new and dedicated audiences for theatrical film. FilmCraft grants support high-quality educational programs worldwide that identify and empower future filmmakers from nontraditional backgrounds. Targeted programs include those that encourage an appreciation of film as both a vocation and an art form, and those that provide hands-on opportunities for participants to gain the filmmaking skills they need to tell their stories. The application deadline for both programs is January 15, 2021. Visit the Academy's website to review each grant area's guidelines and to submit an online application.

The American Heritage category aims to increase educational opportunities for future conservators and curators in the field and to support preservation and presentation of unique collections. Healthcare Programs in Massachusetts Funded
Massachusetts Medical Society and Alliance Charitable Foundation

The Massachusetts Medical Society and Alliance Charitable Foundation awards grants to nonprofit organizations throughout Massachusetts for creative programs that provide direct care services or target public health issues that impact the healthcare system and the health of communities. Specifically, the Foundation aims to provide grants to organizations committed to providing quality healthcare services for the un- and under-insured; behavioral health services when not available; improved access to healthcare by overcoming barriers to healthcare delivery; health promotion through proactive prevention, education, and outreach; and programs aimed at addressing the social determinants of health. Preference will be given to organizations demonstrating a commitment to addressing health equity, as it is clear that racial discrimination is a driver of racial/ethnic health inequities, which leads to poorer health outcomes combined with both reduced access to healthcare and poorer patient experiences. Letters of intent must be submitted by January 15, 2021. Visit the Foundation's website to review the application guidelines.

Don't miss this opportunity. You will be VERY glad you came! The webinar for the DESKTOP version of Quickbooks will be held on Wednesday, December 9, 2020. Transformational Leadership: A Coached Seminar Experience (NEW)
As the current or future executive director or senior leadership team member of a nonprofit organization, the pressures you deal with are enormous. Every day you are called upon to create and sustain an environment that enables your staff to renew their commitment and refine their skills. But where do you, the executive director or senior management team member, go to renew your commitment and refine your skills? Transformational Leadership: A Coached Seminar Experience, presented by Dr. Anthony Silard, CEO of The Global Leadership Institute and the President of The Center for Social Leadership, is a ten-part seminar series in transformational nonprofit leadership. In this interactive course you will learn 'transactional' skills such as how to manage your staff, how to cultivate donors, how to build your board of directors, and how to create a strategic plan—all through the lens of the transformational leader. There has been a recent surge in complex emotions such as loneliness, anxiety, and depression, which can easily destabilize nonprofit organizations. Transformational Leadership: A Coached Seminar Experience will cultivate nonprofit leaders with enhanced abilities in emotion management so they can transform these challenging emotions—within both themselves and their staff, board members, and donors—into empathy, passion, and a renewed commitment toward organizational goals. Both individuals and groups can participate in Transformational Leadership: A Coached Seminar Experience, either as a complete series to methodically build their leadership knowledge and skills, or as stand-alone (single session) learning opportunities. All participants who take the entire course will receive a certificate from The Center for Social Leadership. The deadline to register for the entire series is January 21, 2021; registration for individual seminars in the series will be open monthly through October 2021.
