Commission for Environmental Cooperation: Environmental Justice and Climate Resilience Grant Program

The Commission for Environmental Cooperation's Environmental Justice and Climate Resilience Grant Program (EJ4Climate) funds projects that target underserved and vulnerable communities and Indigenous communities in Canada, Mexico, and the United States, to prepare them for climate-related impacts. Grants of up to CA$200,000 are provided to community-based organizations, including nonprofit organizations, non-governmental organizations, environmental groups, community-based associations, tribal nations, and Indigenous peoples and communities, to help them develop community-driven solutions to adapt to the impacts of climate change. For this grant cycle, the focus is on projects that integrate community-led environmental education in support of environmental justice and community resilience to climate-related impacts. Priority will be given to projects that significantly integrate formal or informal community-led environmental education approaches such as, but not limited to, hands-on activities and placed-based learnings, citizen-science initiatives, knowledge exchange with elders, training and capacity building, awareness campaigns, and the involvement of youth as agents of change. Proposals are due November 11, 2022. Visit the Commission for Environmental Cooperation website for more information and to download the 2022 call for proposals.

Eligible applicants include music service organizations, education and residency organizations, library and archive organizations, and radio and TV organizations. General operating support and support for special projects are provided. Live Webinars

Unless otherwise noted, all Online Education Trainings are webinars,
are 90 minutes in duration, and are scheduled to begin at 2 PM Eastern Time.

Building a Nonprofit Brand (NEW)

Is branding an afterthought for your nonprofit organization? It shouldn't be, because what people think about your nonprofit influences your ability to build capacity. Whether you're trying to compete for funding, people, or donations, strong branding must be present. But branding is much more than logo and look. Branding is the sum total of perceptions about what a nonprofit stands for, what it does, and how much social impact it is thought to achieve. And many new, emerging, or established organizations struggle with messaging and visuals. During this webinar, Mindy Muller will help you ensure your organization's forward face matches the value you provide behind the scenes. The webinar will be held on Tuesday, October 4, 2022.

Plan for Financial Success: Budgeting and Forecasting

Do you find the budgeting process confusing? If you're like many nonprofits, you may not be aware of the various budgeting methodologies you could employ. Or perhaps you struggle with understanding the difference between budgeting and forecasting and the goal for each. If the mere thought of budgeting makes you feel overwhelmed and you do not know where to start, then join Don Needs and Boyd Orr of Jitasa as they cover how you can start your budget or improve your current processes. The webinar will be held on Thursday, October 6, 2022.
